Beginning Homesteading: Your Path to a Self-Sufficient Lifestyle (Prepper's Survival Gardening & Pantry Stockpile)Let’s face it. I am persnickety about my non-fiction reading. In this day of self-publishing, many are simply a bunch of sentences copied directly from the internet and pasted together, then titled and called a “book”.

In the case of “Beginning Homesteading: Your Path to a Self-Sufficient Lifestyle (Prepper’s Survival Gardening & Pantry Stockpile)
I am happy to report that this is not the case. Woo Hoo! Finally. Now, that doesn’t mean that this is a full and complete journal of everything you could ever want to know about homesteading all in on simple, easy to read volume. Well, it IS simple, and it is easy to read. But what this book showed me is just what it promised. A beginner’s guide that is simple, straightforward, and gives as much page space to the “why you shouldn’t” as to the “why you should”. Let’s face it – not everyone is cut out for homesteading. And if you find that you are, there are still things you may not want to do, or simply don’t have the knowledge or desire to do. I may have cut up dead bodies in a laboratory situation, but I couldn’t raise a steer and butcher it. I would be more likely to make a pet out of it!

These are simple, logical topics on homesteading that will encourage you to research and learn before you make that big step. A great little beginners guide. Matt Riley did a good job of making things clear and encouraging you to learn, make goals, and decide if homesteading is for you. Recommended.
